Donald Trump has done it, he is going to become the 45th President of the United States of America. All the while, a man decides to parkour up his tower in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The triumph for Mr. Trump, 70, a real estate developer-turned-reality television star with no government experience, was a powerful rejection of the establishment forces that had assembled against him, from the world of business to government, and the consensus they had forged on everything from trade to immigration.
Ridiculed by critics on the right and left, shunned by the most respected figures in American politics, including every living former president, Mr. Trump equated his own outcast status with the resentments of the business class. But enough about politics.
Let’s take a moment and really celebrate Trump’s win by showcasing how easy it was to sneak into Trump Tower premises and climb the 69-storey, 616 ft, mixed-use tower.
On December 15, 2015, Vancouver mayor, Gregor Robertson wrote a letter to the developers of the Trump Tower Vancouver to remove Donald Trump’s name from the building. Robertson stated that “Trump’s name and brand have no more place on Vancouver’s skyline than his ignorant ideas have in the modern world”.
A petition to remove the name was also mentioned in the letter, with more than 50,000 residents voicing their concerns. British Columbia Premier Christy Clark agreed with the movement, stating that “Donald Trump doesn’t represent our city”.
The city of Vancouver is more likely to reveal the Trump trademark now that he is going to become the next President of USA.
