Meet KARMA, GoPro’s debut drone, as this tiny quad-copter zooms across the vista in the official teaser.
There’s no doubt that the highly anticipated, purposefully-delayed GoPro proprietary drone is getting closer to its first ever reveal. In the past 2 months, GoPro has released some uplifting footage that is supposedly produced with the help of their quad-copter technology.

Originally, expectations were that the Karma would appear on shelves before the end of June 2016. However, it was delayed and, according to the company’s financial statement, it won’t be viable until the Christmas buying season.
GoPro has published a new Karma promo video to both Twitter and YouTube, and there is a brief moment where you can see what we presume is GoPro’s upcoming camera drone flying by. See for yourself at the 15 second mark.
Captivated as we see hi-def drone footage of mountain bikers on a trail, then another drone comes in from the right, soaring above the bikers, before the video fades to black.
According to drone expert, Neil Lasti from G.I Entertainment, the small drone is seen to be fully capable of extremely precise flying, including indoors – this has been shown in the library footage. Also, we assume that the audio in the footage is a representation of the quietness of the drone, which is at whisper level at best.
Ever since the KARMA was announced, the next big question is the pricing. This is one of the big unknowns, but the rumor is that the drone won’t come with a camera – consumers will simply attach their existing Hero 3 or 4. Seems fair since GoPro wanted to provide a new line of product separate from the HERO camera. Stay tuned on September 19, 2016 and visit GoPro.com for the reveal of KARMA.
